The Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballet Russes from 1909 - 1929 at the V & A was amazing. Such elaborate costumes, so influenced by all the countries surrounding Russia. How on earth did Nijinsky, one of the best ballet dancers of all time get, let alone float through, the air adorned in beaded harem trousers, a brass head dress and a cloak? The set designs were stunning and HUGE. Then there was the love stories hiding in the photos and paintings and letters. Very enjoyable indeed.
And then we ate cake.
